Small Antique Vaseline Jar

Small Antique Vaseline Jar mudlarked from one of the rivers in Manitoba, now repurposed as a match vessel! Filled with colored matches made of aspen wood, hand crafted in Lithuania. Embossed on the outside, "Vaseline Chesebrough New-York". Jars like this were made typically any where between 1880-1960. Striker is located on the underside of the jar.

These are safety matches. This means that the reactive ingredients are separated between the match head and striker.
