Antique Aqua Whittemore Boston Bottle

Antique Aqua Whittemore Boston Bottle, mudlarked from one of the rivers in Manitoba, now repurposed as a match vessel! Embossed on the bottle is "Whittemore Boston". These bottles often contained shoe polish (referred to shoe dressing back when manufactured) and date back to anywhere between 1870-1930. Filled with colored matches made of aspen wood, hand crafted in Lithuania. Striker is located on the underside of the vessel.

These are safety matches. This means that the reactive ingredients are separated between the match head and striker.
